Spread the Love Ministry from Faith Christian Church is celebrating one year of working to ensure no child goes hungry in Lima.
With kids out of school for the summer, two Lima-area organizations are working to ensure no child goes hungry during the break.
LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - A local church is giving back to the community with a week-long event aimed at helping families and spreading positivity.
“On June 9, we are actually having Lunch, the Ohio summer lunch mascot, coming,” said Carrie Woodruff, food service director for Lima City Schools. “He’s going to be giving out coloring pages, and we’ll have a few giveaways. He’s coming to support our summer lunch program.”
"Spread the Love" with Faith Christian Church, along with help from Lima Sixth Ward Councilman Derry Glenn, kicked off their inaugural deliveries of free peanut butter and jelly sandwich meals.
Faith Christian Church, in partnership with Lima Sixth Ward Councilman Derry Glenn, is taking the first steps toward ensuring that no child in Lima goes hungry.
