LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — A mobile pizza kitchen known for serving communities across the U.S. and Canada made a stop in Lima on Wednesday evening.

Little Caesars brought its "Love Kitchen" to the Lima Rescue Mission, providing free, freshly made pizzas to men stopping by the shelter. The Love Kitchen is a semi-truck and trailer equipped to cook pizzas on-site, traveling to serve people in need. Staff at the Lima Rescue Mission said the visit helps ease the burden of preparing a nightly meal, as the organization provides shelter and daily meals for men facing homelessness in the community.

"Well, it's free pizza, you know. It goes a long way. The men appreciate it because it's good food, and the staff here appreciate it too because it saves the strain of a church or somebody else maybe having to come in and prepare the food. It just makes it a whole lot more convenient," said Jace McDonald, service coordinator at Lima Rescue Mission.

Mission staff said the Love Kitchen has visited several times in the past, including a previous stop at the shelter last July.
