The academic and scholar excellence of students, staff, and faculty at OSU Lima were recognized and celebrated Friday evening.

The Patrol’s 170^th Academy Class graduated today after 32 weeks of intense training. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine; Director Andy Wilson, Ohio Department of Public Safety; and Colonel Charles A. Jones, Patrol Superintendent; provided remarks. Major General John C. Harris Jr., Ohio Adjutant General, delivered the commencement address to the 23 members of the Patrol’s 170^th Academy Class. Judge Matthew P. Frericks, Marion County Court of Common Pleas, issued the Oath of Office.

Ohio Northern University Law graduates who sat for the Ohio bar exam in the summer of 2022 collectively earned one of the highest passage rates compared to those from other colleges, at 81 percent. According to Kelly Stevens, ONU bar success coordinator, this cohort placed third, just behind Case Western Reserve University and The Ohio State University.

A Veterans Honor Wall is being planned for construction in front of Lima Senior. Veterans who served in active duty and graduated from the lima city school district who apply will have their names engraved on both sides of the wall. So far, 130 names have been collected, and the finished project will have room for around sixteen hundred names.

Perry Commodores welcoming 61 graduating classes to their first ever all Alumni Reunion.  Around 400 Perry graduates and guests from the classes of 1961 to present were on hand for the event.  Each of the classes have held their own personal reunions before, but organizers thought that bringing everyone together would give different classes and generations a chance to reminisce together.  But this could be just the beginning for these type of events.
