DeWayne Scott joined Hometown Stations in 2023 and is thrilled to comeback home where it all started to begin his career. Originally from Columbus, OH, DeWayne received his bachelor’s degree in both Communication and Sports Studies with a minor in Dance at Lake Erie College. His next stop was to the east coast, as DeWayne went to Sacred Heart University (CT), where he received his master’s degree in Sports Communication and Media.
After playing collegiate soccer, DeWayne made the jump from the pitch to the world of sports media and storytelling. On his route to Your Hometown Stations, DeWayne interned as the beat writer for the Cleveland Soccer Club, and had the opportunity to create graphics, produce, sideline report, and shoot live games on the collegiate level.
When he’s not on the job, DeWayne enjoys listening to podcasts, listening to music, watching superhero movies, playing sports, and last but not least, chillin with his friends, family, and two dogs.
