LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Motorcyclists came together to help send local veterans on the trip of a lifetime.
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A bowling alley was packed with people showing their support for Lima's veterans.
It was a Monday afternoon full of family, friends, and patriotism for some special veterans at the Allen County Regional Transit Authority. Fifteen Lima area Vietnam veterans arrived the Allen County RTA for the Flag City Honor Flight Trip to Washington D.C.
A fundraiser reached its completion on Saturday in Ottawa. A collectors gun was raffled off to area residents, with all proceeds going towards Honor Flight.
People at 20th Century Lanes on Saturday were “Bowling for Honor” in the fundraising event to give U.S. veterans a trip they will be sure to remember.
The Honor Flight is a mission to give every Veteran a trip to Washington D.C. to view the monuments of the respective war they fought in. On Sunday, there was a “Ride for Honor” event at the VFW to raise money to get Lima veterans on that trip.
The Lima Flag City Honor Flight took over 20th Century Lanes today for a fundraiser to try to bring Veterans to their place of honor.
The Honor Flight believes that if America felt that it was important to build a monument to honor the sacrifice veterans made, then every Veteran deserves to experience and visit it themselves.
