On Tuesday, the Governor giving Your Hometown Stations a sit-down interview at Ohio's historic Governor's residence in the Columbus suburb of Bexley. The Governor talked about the unprecedented challenges of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic during his first term, and the economic development achievements of his administration. That includes a major expansion of chip maker Intel here in Ohio.

The Allen County Commissioners appointed Jennifer McBride as interim clerk of courts following Wednesday's retirement of Margie Murphy Miller who served in that position for 12 years. McBride is no stranger to the courts office as she served alongside Miller as supervisor and has been involved with Allen County Clerk of Courts for 25 years.

Lawyers for 32-year-old Paul Curtis Jr. say that he was too intoxicated to understand his rights before Lima Police Detectives interviewed him for the shooting death of Sam McLaurin in November of last year. They are asking that the interview be suppressed for Curtis's future trial. McLaurin's body was found in the driveway at a home in the 400 block of S. Baxter St. with multiple gunshot wounds. When officers went to arrest Curtis, they say that he was under the influence.

Melvin Boothe is facing a charge of murder. Lima police arrested him as a suspect in the death of 25-year-old McKenzie Butler, whose body was found buried in a wooded area at the south end of Martin Luther King Jr. Park. Thursday's motion hearing saw a request from the defense to eliminate an interview and 911 call of Boothe's wife, stating that at the time Boothe was not arrested or in custody.
