The Allen County Sheriff's Office says that Deputy Izak Ackerman was determined to be justified in his actions for the shooting of Quincey Pritchett by the grand jury. The sheriff's office is conducting a mandatory internal review of the findings which is expected to be complete by the beginning of next week and after they will hold a press conference to talk about it.

43-year-old Quincy J. Pritchett from Lima was the man who died in the shooting involving 26-year-old Deputy Izak Ackerman early Tuesday morning. Pritchett was taken to the Lucas County Coroners' Office for an autopsy. The sheriff's office says the final report confirming the cause of death and toxicology is not expected for several weeks.
Deputy Ackerman underwent a successful surgery last evening at a Columbus area hospital and has since been discharged. Deputy Ackerman is off duty under medical leave at this time and will likely remain off duty during the course of the BCI investigation. We anticipate being able to release the name of the deceased suspect later this week. No further information is available at this time.
Lima Police Department reported the officer-involved shooting started around 2:37 am near the intersection of 2nd and Sugar streets on the south side of Lima. The traffic stop led to a vehicle chase. The suspect then got out of their vehicle and ran off so a foot chase began.
