Lawyers for 20-year-old Jourdyn Rawlins are asking that a search warrant for his DNA in one case be thrown out because there were errors in the warrant signed by the judge in 2020. Which include spelling mistakes, and mentions a weapon, when there was not one used in the alleged crime.

Rawlins was arrested in May on one count of rape after a victim says that she was spending time with Rawlins in his home when he allegedly forced himself on her. The most recent indictment says that the alleged incident happened in September of 2020. No trial date has been set, his lawyer says they need more time to get through the 500 pages of discovery in the latest case. Plus, they are looking to hire a DNA expert for the trial.

Rawlins signed a waiver in Allen County Common Pleas Court on Thursday that will waive his right to a speedy trial. His original jury trial was set to be scheduled in late August, but will now be pushed to December 6th of this year.

Williams is now facing counts of felonious assault with a firearm specification, having weapons while under disability and carrying a concealed weapon.
