The WRAP program is providing quiet but impactful support to Lima City Schools students and their families by connecting them with critical social services. Leaders say the effort has helped up to 15 families each year and is expanding through the planned Ujima Safe House.

Heritage Elementary School students were crowned kings and queens by Lima Senior High School basketball players as part of a medieval-themed National School Breakfast Week celebration. The event, supported by the USDA, highlighted the importance of starting the day with a free, nutritious meal and a welcoming environment.

Athletic Director John Zell said alumni will play a prominent role in the festivities.

“We’re inviting all alumni to attend. We have quite a few activities involving our alumni. We’re going to have an alumni pep band. We’re going to have alumni cheerleaders. We’re also going to have honorary team captains throughout the many decades of Lima Senior basketball,” Zell said.
