The Lima Rotary Foundation donated $5,000 to the Lima Salvation Army. The money will be used where funding is needed. The Salvation Army provides programs all year long and this donation will help with a variety of needs. Christmas Assistance distribution begins this Wednesday. The red kettles will be out with bells ringing through Christmas Eve.

The Lima Rotary Foundation is helping some non-traditional students go back to school and go after their dreams.  11 $1,000 scholarships were awarded this quarter. The foundation has given out a total of over $800,000 in scholarships for people who are going back to school and that money is helping make dreams come true.

Justice was moving swift around Lima on Friday, and it was all for a good cause. The Lima Rotary Foundation held their first ever Jail & Bail event.   Officers were sent to pick up people and bring them before Judge Richard Warren to be fined for such crimes like failing to measure twice before cutting once.  In the past the rotary foundation did a wine auction to raise money, but since people were having so much fun, they are looking to bring about three times the amount that they usually get from the wine auction.

Tickets are now on sale for Lima Rotary Club's annual reverse raffle, and this year, it has a new name. The annual fundraiser is named in honor of the late Allen County commissioner Jay Begg, who chaired the club's annual auction and was very involved with Lima Rotary.

Medical Equipment and Supplies Abroad collects retired medical and school supplies here in the U.S. and sends them to developing countries that will benefit from the equipment. Things such as hospital beds, gowns, and curtains along with computers and desks on the educational side.

The Lima Rotary Foundation is committed to helping make Lima Allen County a better place for all of us. On Monday, donations of more than $55,000 were given to the foundation to help with their projects. $40,000 from their annual golf outing will go to scholarships for non-traditional students. Money from the spring blood clinic and donations from club members of more than $5,000 will go toward grants to local organizations to help in the community.

The Lima Rotary Foundation once again supporting the community with several grants. The group on Monday awarded four local groups with nearly $10,000 of grants. Those benefiting are the Allen Lima Leadership Youth program, Boy Scouts of the Black Swamp Explorers, the Rotary's Shelter Boxes for Indonesia, and the Rotary's Medical Equipment Supplies Abroad program.
