Justice was moving swift around Lima on Friday, and it was all for a good cause.
The Lima Rotary Foundation held their first ever Jail & Bail event. Officers were sent to pick up people and bring them before Judge Richard Warren to be fined for such crimes like failing to measure twice before cutting once. In the past the rotary foundation did a wine auction to raise money, but since people were having so much fun, they are looking to bring about three times the amount that they usually get from the wine auction.
“It has been hilarious. We have been a kangaroo court, we have been bribed as corrupt officers of the court, of the kangaroo court as I should say. We have a few people afraid to go before Judge Warren. So, it’s has been a lot of fun,” says Catheryn Sarno of the Lima Rotary Foundation.
The foundation says since this year has been so successful; they are maybe looking at doing the Jail & Bail again in the future.
