The Lima Kiwanis Club heard from Lima-Allen County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Josh Unterbrink about the organization’s history, services and impact on the local business community. Unterbrink said the chamber’s nearly 1,000 members benefit from networking opportunities, marketing assistance and programs designed to help businesses save money and grow.
Dozens of businesses set up booths to network and raise awareness of their brands. Organizers said the event provided an opportunity for businesses to connect with the community and each other.

The organizers of a newly developed workshop are hoping to provide the skills needed for young adults to enter the workforce. "Presenting Your Best Self: Soft Skills for Career Success" is a joint effort of the Lima-Allen County Chamber of Commerce, Apollo Career Center, and the Heartland Image Foundation. They recognized the need for local businesses and industries to have employees who have good communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. It will be a project of the new Hub at the Central District.
On Tuesday, the Lima-Allen County Chamber of Commerce planned to hold an event outside of the Veterans Civic Center. Lima Mayor David Berger released a letter once he was made aware, saying that the city was not sanctioning the event, and asked those organizing it to postpone it and follow safety orders issued by the Ohio Department of Health.
