McDonald’s of Ohio restaurants will be donating 10 percent of all sales purchased through the McDonald’s app. The donations will support ongoing relief for North Carolina residents affected by Hurricane Helene. Each store will be donating a minimum of $200.

This initiative allowed McDonald's Owner/Operators to contribute 10 percent of all digital sales made through the McDonald's app to designated high schools, benefiting 266 athletic programs statewide. Each locally owned McDonald’s restaurant selected a high school in their community to donate 10 percent of all digital sales on September 26. Each identified high school received a minimum of $250. This was the second year McDonald’s Restaurants hosted the High School Sports Digital Fundraiser. McDonald’s Owner/Operators in Ohio were the first to launch this type of fundraiser last year as a way to support high school athletics in the communities they serve.

During the High School Sports Digital Fundraiser Day, 8 schools across the Lima area will earn 10 percent of all sales purchased through the McDonald’s app. This year marks the second time celebrating High School Sports Digital Fundraiser Day. McDonald’s owner/operators in Ohio came up with the fundraiser as a way to support high school athletics in the communities they serve. Each locally owned McDonald’s restaurant has chosen a high school in their community to donate 10 percent of all sales on September 26. Each identified high school will receive a minimum of $250.
Less fortunate Allen County children will be more prepared going back to school this year thanks to charitable efforts from the community. The McDonald's of Ohio School Supply Drive wrapped up earlier this week to help provide school supplies to struggling families before the school year begins. Donation boxes were placed at 380 McDonald's locations in the Greater Ohio region and 12 right here in Lima. The supplies were dropped off at the Allen County Children Services building for them to hand out to kids.
With the kids returning to the classroom next month, the Lewis Family McDonald's are making sure that families are prepared through their Backpack Giveaway! On Monday evening inside the McDonald's lobby in Delphos, school-aged children along with the help of their parents picked out their brand new backpack. Each backpack was filled with school supplies ranging from new pencils and erasers to notebooks, folders, and colored pencils. As the kids sifted through their new belongings, Monday's mission is to ensure that all kids have everything they need for a successful year of learning.

A total of $3,000 was donated to the United Way's 2021 campaign. The money was raised through cookie sales at McDonald's locations over the past two weeks. The United Way says they are grateful for the donation and the money will go towards helping businesses still struggling during the pandemic.
