A total of $3,000 was donated to the United Way's 2021 campaign. The money was raised through cookie sales at McDonald's locations over the past two weeks. The United Way says they are grateful for the donation and the money will go towards helping businesses still struggling during the pandemic.

"We are so blessed with the incredible support from the Lewis Family McDonald's," said Derek Stemen, United Way of Greater Lima President/CEO. "Last year was a really tough year for our community, we more than doubled our services provided to this entire county and we could not do it if it wasn't for the great support that we receive from businesses like the Lewis Family McDonald's."

"It was about the logistics and how we were going to do and so when we came up about the idea with the cookies, it was a no-brainer," explained Jonathan Lewis, Lewis Family McDonald's owner/operator. "And really a big thank you to all of our customers in the area for coming out and supporting this great way to fundraise for the United Way."

A total of eight McDonald's from the Allen County area participated in the event.
