The Saint Marys Opera House showcased its new outdoor pavilion Sunday afternoon with the launch of its first summer concert series.
The marquee and the blade with the name Saint Marys came down, to be reconstructed by Budde Sheet Metal Works out of Lima. This is part of the nearly three million dollar top to bottom renovation project that the Friends of the Theater started to preserve the centerpiece of the city. While the theater itself is 120 years old, this marquee has only been around for the last 80 years and will be reinstalled in the spring.

The class donated $1,000 to the restoration efforts of the St. Marys Theater and Opera House. The building has been around for over 120 years and the students felt it was important to join other community members and businesses in helping save it. Since the structure has brought a lot of entertainment to the community, the students put on their first “St. Marys Got Talent” show to raise their donation.
The Morvilius Opera House in Fort Recovery still holds history on its stage. The venue opened in 1883 by Russel Morvilius. It housed operas, plays, medical shows, and different forms of entertainment.
