While the races for judges don't get the attention as other races on the statewide ballot, like U.S. Senate or governor, Justice Kennedy says it is just as important, especially when you want Ohio's highest court to uphold the laws on the books. Kennedy, DeWine, and Fischer will be facing off against Jennifer Brunner, Marilyn Zayas, and Terri Jamison respectively in the November 2022 general election.

Speaking today was Ohio's attorney general, 2 Ohio supreme court justices, and a handful of other officials in favor of issue one. It is a proposed constitutional amendment to state that judges shall consider the safety of the community when setting a bond. It is in response to the 4 to 3 vote of the Ohio Supreme Court rejecting the trial judge's decision to consider the victim's family's fear of retribution when setting bail in a homicide case in Hamilton County.

With 80 days until the General Election, Ohio’s Governor and a Supreme Court Justice stopped by the Allen County Fair to talk to voters.
That is why the five largest business organizations in the state announced their endorsement of Pat Fischer and Pat DeWine for re-election to the Ohio Supreme Court and Sharon Kennedy for Chief Justice of the court. After interviewing all of the candidates for the justice seats, the business organization felt these candidates would enforce the laws in Ohio and not legislate from the bench and leave business issues to the Ohio General Assembly.
Ohio Supreme Court Justice Pat DeWine appeared at the Van Wert Rotary Club to educate the public about the judicial system. DeWine makes the appearance while many are requesting that he recuse himself over the new legislative map process.

They typically see about 11-hundred cases a year requesting reviews and choose around 50 to actually hear and give written decisions. As one of the 3 branches of government, he believes the judicial process may not be as well known as its counterparts of administrative and legislative.
