While the races for judges don't get the attention as other races on the statewide ballot, like U.S. Senate or governor, Justice Kennedy says it is just as important, especially when you want Ohio's highest court to uphold the laws on the books.

"Because we are constitutionalists, we are the textualists that we talk about when you read our decisions you are going to see if we are talking about a constitutional provision. Here's what the provision says, here's what those words meant at the time that it was written and then we simply apply that to the facts of the case. To me, that fairness, impartiality, and actually mooring yourself to the language ensures a quality of application of law to every Ohioan," explained Justice Sharon Kennedy, Republican candidate for Ohio Chief Justice.

Kennedy, DeWine, and Fischer will be facing off against Jennifer Brunner, Marilyn Zayas, and Terri Jamison respectively in the November 2022 general election.
