6th Ward Councilman Derry Glenn is looking for either financial or actual turkey donations for his 10th annual turkey giveaway. Glenn is getting an earlier start to make sure that everyone that he serves gets a turkey, but to do that he says he is going to need some help.
The first event starts on Saturday night at Indian Lake for the "Light Up The Lake Spectacular" happening between Russells Point and Lakeview. This is one of the largest fireworks shows in the region. Pyrotecnico was hired to put on the show as fireworks will be synchronized to the music. The fireworks will start at 10 pm, and we are told the best viewing will be along the lake's west bank and Old Field Beach.
Free dumpster sites were set up at four different locations Saturday morning in Lima for the first City Wide Pride event.
Saturday marked the final day of the Lima's City Wide Pride event. The event gave Lima Residents a chance to throw away unwanted items/materials at no cost.
The event was organized by a non-profit called Small Town Pride, and their goal is to educate their community on tolerance. The pride march sent over 300 people marching down the streets of Celina to celebrate love for all.
Lima's gay bar is going the extra mile to give the area's LGBTQ community a safe place to show their pride. North Street's Somewhere hosted their first family-friendly pride event. The bar had games and face painting, as well as tarot card readings, and shared information on health screenings. The bar felt it was important to give the Lima area an event like this so that the community's younger LGBTQ members know that they do not have to move away to find acceptance.
