Lori McCollum originally organized a with her youth group at her church as an outreach by baking food and to show support for police officers after noticing the negativity cops were receiving over the past month. That turned into something greater, a Praytest, where people could come together and show their support for the police and pray for the city. She explained why they decided to come out and show support.
Members of the community in Findlay gathered to shed light on the discrimination against black Americans that has the whole country protesting. The mayor of Findlay organized a gathering at Dorney Plaza to discuss unity, diversity, and inclusion in the community and to acknowledge the peaceful protests that have been going on downtown this past week.
Following the protests sparked by George Floyd's death in Minnesota, Lima's NAACP president has issued a statement. On behalf of the Lima chapter, Ron Fails says the protests for Floyd are warranted, but the violence is not condoned. He believes the protests will continue until the three remaining officers involved in Floyd's death are charged. Fails applauds the non-violent demonstration that took place in Lima and says the city can't forget the instances of police brutality seen here. Fails challenges local government for reform in stopping police brutality.

DeWine says he welcomes the voices of people who are focused on injustices like Floyd’s, but will not tolerate acts of violence or citizens being threatened.
