LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Immigration will be a major issue this election season, so some Lima residents took to the streets on Saturday to voice their opinions.

Several people gathered at the square downtown to express their concerns about illegal immigration with signs on display as people drove by. They say that law enforcement and elected officials are not doing enough to manage the issue, and they want to see the laws followed. One of the signs detailed several cases where citizens were killed due to the actions of confirmed or possible undocumented immigrants.

"Laken Riley is one example. But there's many, many more. I've been covering this for many years, and there's this one lady that lives down in Texas; her daughter was killed because an illegal was high and drunk, slammed into the back end of her daughter's car," explained Brian Lang, one of the residents at the protest.
Demonstrators emphasized that they do support immigrants who come to our country legally.
