Community members spare a couple of hours Saturday afternoon to have some fun bowling and raise some money for a lima youth center.
Around 20 teams from local companies and organizations came out to support City Life at Rally Point Youth Center during their 7th annual bowl-a-thon fundraiser. The money raised helps them continue their mission to providing 11 to 19-year-olds with Christian based programing in a safe, positive, and drug-free environment. Organizers are happy to see the community support for their program.
Bicycle riders took advantage of a perfect day to help raise money for the Rally Point Youth Center. This is the 14th year for their Rally Point River Ride. Throughout Saturday morning participants rode anywhere between 10 to 62.5 miles through the park's trail and along area road.
A bike ride event helped raise money to a local center that will provide more resources to the Lima area. Rally Point River Ride 2021 has cyclists gather at the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities west end picnic area, where they were able to set off onto different bike paths.
The Rally Point Youth Center in Lima is preparing for their biggest fundraiser of the year next weekend, the Rally Point River Ride. The event offers bicycle tours for the community to participate in. There are 10, 20, 50 and 62.5-mile paths riders can choose from, whether they want a relaxing experience or a challenge. The proceeds from event registrations go to the youth ministry and their programs that help area teens in their life and faith. Jared Diller, the Executive Director of Northwest Ohio Youth for Christ says the public has been a huge support in making this year's ride possible.

This is the 12th year that the Rally Point Youth Center has held their River Ride fundraiser. Around 200 bicyclists took to the roads or the bike path to ride as much as 62 miles or as little at 10. The annual event is Rally Point’s biggest fundraiser and the money raised helps them offer a place for teens for them to grown mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Bicyclists in Lima now have multiple places to stop if their ride needs repairs. A grant from Activate Allen County has allowed "The Wheelhouse" to place bicycle work stations in the community. The station allows riders to take care of minor repairs and flat tires while they're out riding. The executive director of the Bradfield Community Center is thankful a station is placed at their facility and says it will be beneficial to those they serve.
