Thursday's program was highlighted by the presentation of checks from the newly established Shawnee Alumni Legacy Scholarship. Four students received checks of $1,000 each. With the class of 2026 -2027 being the 100th graduating class from Shawnee, the Legacy Scholarship Fund was established as a way for 100 years of Shawnee graduates and generations of their families to build a legacy of support for future graduates. Students were also honored for everything from music and theatre to math and participation on the quiz bowl team.
There will be a ceremony on April 19th at the City Club in downtown Lima where the top award winner will be announced to be our area’s representative at the National Jefferson Award Ceremony.
