Academic honors and thousands of dollars in scholarships were handed out at Shawnee High School during the spring awards and scholarship program.
Thursday's program was highlighted by the presentation of checks from the newly established Shawnee Alumni Legacy Scholarship. Four students received checks of $1,000 each. With the class of 2026 -2027 being the 100th graduating class from Shawnee, the Legacy Scholarship Fund was established as a way for 100 years of Shawnee graduates and generations of their families to build a legacy of support for future graduates.
