A Lima Police Officer testified about Wilson’s possible gang affiliation. Following Christian Laws death on June 14, 2019 LPD suspected more shootings to follow. Wilson also saw a co-defendant testify against him on Tuesday. Maria Elena-Williams was charged in the alleged crime, but after pleading the Fifth Amendment, the state gave her immunity and her case was dismissed, allowing her to testify without prosecution.

Although former Allen County Sheriff Sam Crish is serving time in a federal prison, he still faces another civil lawsuit. A couple motions of the case were debated in court today. Ray Magnus was awarded $102,000 as part of the more than $600,000 Crish has to pay back from his federal case. But there is no timetable when that will be paid back. Magnus and attorneys said they have a claim to the $85,000  "Furtherance of Justice Fund" that Crish used while in office. That fund is a bond which Auto Owners Insurance said Magnus has no claim to. 

Today(11/18/19) is the reporting deadline for the former Allen County sheriff to report to federal prison. Sam Crish is set to report to the federal correctional institution in Welch, West Virginia, which is a medium-security prison with more than 1,600 inmates. Crish was sentenced in September to 11 years and 4 months in federal prison. He took a plea deal and pleaded guilty to two counts of extortion, two counts of bribery, and one count of making a false statement. He was also sentenced to pay back $606,000 in restitution. Crish is eligible for early release, but not until serving 85% of his sentence.

The former Allen County sheriff convicted of federal crimes now has a date to report to prison.

According to his attorney, Sam Crish is scheduled to report on Nov. 18 to the Federal Correctional Institution in Welch, WV. That's a medium security prison with more than 16-hundred inmates. Crish was sentenced in September to 11 years and four months in federal prison. He took a plea deal and pleaded guilty to two counts of extortion, two counts of bribery and one count of making a false statement. He was also sentenced to pay back $606,000 in restitution. We don't know how many victims there were because those documents were sealed. Crish is eligible for early release, but not until serving 85 percent of his sentence.

Following the sentencing of former Allen County sheriff Sam Crish, one of his victims' family is saying it’s not enough. The Liles family gathered in downtown Lima Wednesday to express that they feel one of their family members was only incarcerated because of the actions taken by Crish. Now they want justice for him.

The former Allen County Sheriff gets over 11 years in federal prison for multiple charges of extortion and soliciting bribes. Sam Crish was sentenced in federal court to 136 months in prison and he has been ordered to pay back $606,000 in restitution to his victims.Investigators say that Crish would offer to help suspects facing charges or those dealing with child custody issues and then ask for a loan, as well as, take out loans from individuals under false pretenses.

We still have a little over a week until we know what former Allen County Sheriff Sam Crish will be sentenced to on federal crimes. The U.S. attorneys who prosecuted the case against Sam Crish have submitted their recommendation to what they would like to see Federal Judge James Carr order on September 26th.

In light of a guilty plea from former Allen County Sheriff Sam Crish, we spoke with a local judge about what could happen next. Crish plead guilty to five of six charges including extortion and soliciting bribes. He could face 12.5 to 15.5 years in prison and pay back more than $600,000 in restitution.
