Families facing the difficult decision of whether a loved one needs assisted living or nursing home care received guidance from Kessler Estates Executive Director Nicole Butcher during a Lima Kiwanis meeting. Butcher encouraged families to have honest, compassionate conversations and to research multiple communities to find the best fit for their loved one.

Otterbein Cridersville moved its Independence Day celebration indoors because of extreme heat, where dozens of residents, families and friends gathered for a patriotic program. The Otterbein Honor Singers entertained the crowd and paid tribute to all branches of the U.S. military, recognizing veterans and military families.

Jason Risner, executive director of Primrose, said the expo helps residents “age in place” by connecting them with care partners and resources. “Sometimes in order for that to happen, we have to get some care partners involved, and education and knowing about what’s available is so important to make that happen,” Risner said.
