The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. at the Shawnee Fuel Stop on Breese Road. The driver and passenger were not hurt. However, the collision did cause some damage to the building. No one inside the business was injured either, but the owner was forced to shut off gas pumps and close while the damage was cleaned up.

The Shawnee Township Fire Department is trying to determine the cause of a Sunday morning fire at the middle school.  The fire department was called to the Shawnee Middle School just before 8 am when law enforcement and a passerby noticed smoke coming from the roof.  Firefighters found flames on the roof above the gym.   Lima and Cridersville Fire Departments were called in to assist.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation.  The estimated damage from the fire is between $15,000 and $20,000.

A two-alarm fire severely damages a Shawnee Township home. The Shawnee Fire Department was called out to 3773 Bowsher Road just after 1:30 on Monday afternoon. Fire and smoke were coming out the end of the two-story home. Cridersville was called in to help battle the fire. A witness tells us that no one was home when the fire started. Fire crews were still out on the scene as of news time. No word yet what started the fire or how much damage was done to the home.

A single apartment fire causes thousands of dollars of damage on Tuesday afternoon. The Lima Fire Department got the call around 3:30 p.m. for a fire at 2951 Elijah Parkway. The fire started in the kitchen either on or around the stove. The person living in the apartment left around half an hour before and returned after the fire broke out. The fire did not spread to any other apartments in the building. Everyone that was inside the apartment building at the time were able to get out safely. Damages to the building are thought to be around $25,000.

Committee members for the planned 9/11 Memorial in Allen County received a donation from the Pentagon earlier this week. Committee members Jeff Rosebrock and Ken Ford made the trip to Washington, D.C. to pick up the donation, which was a limestone piece from the rubble of the Pentagon attack on September 11th, 2001.
