A single apartment fire causes thousands of dollars of damage on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lima Fire Department got the call around 3:30 p.m. for a fire at 2951 Elijah Parkway. The fire started in the kitchen either on or around the stove. The person living in the apartment left around half an hour before and returned after the fire broke out. The fire did not spread to any other apartments in the building. Everyone that was inside the apartment building at the time were able to get out safely. Damages to the building are thought to be around $25,000.
American Township and Shawnee Fire, as well as the Lima Police Department, were also on the scene.
