It was festive and bright earlier Tuesday Evening in several Shawnee Township neighborhoods! The Indianbrook, Wildbrook, and Timberfield neighborhoods in Shawnee Township were dazzling with bright Christmas lights for the sixth annual Shawnee Luminary Night. Through all the waving santas, Christmas cookies, and chimneys lit up ready for Old Saint Nick's arrival was a great cause. At the Indianbrook exit, volunteers collected canned goods, toiletries, and monetary donations for the West Ohio Food Bank to make sure that everyone can enjoy the Christmas season.

Shawnee Living partnered with the residents in Indianbrook and Wildbrook neighborhoods to show off more than 4,000 paper bags filled with sand and candles that lined the streets, along with their decorated yards. A new tradition this year was Santa and a mailbox for families to turn in letters for him to read. There was no cost to attend but people were encouraged to bring canned goods, toiletries, or money to support the West Ohio Food Bank and help others out during the holiday season.

Several streets in Shawnee were busy tonight(12/17/19) as many families came out to view the luminaries and also give back. Thousands of luminaries lined the streets of Indianbrook, Wildbrook, and several other neighborhoods. Cars slowly made their way down the streets as they not only viewed the luminaries but the house decorations as well. On their way out they stopped by the West Ohio Food bank donation area where they dropped off bags of food. The food bank says they are very grateful for the community support.
