Lima small businesses, including Clay Cards and Ride & Reform, are preparing for increased holiday shopping as customers look for unique gifts ahead of Small Business Saturday.
The weekend after Thanksgiving is one of the busiest shopping times of the year, and local small businesses are hoping residents will think of them this holiday season and beyond.
As Christmas fast approaches, Santa Claus isn't the only one coming to town. On Small Business Saturday, the residents of Wapakoneta showed up in droves to support local businesses.
Ottawa-Glandorf Swing Choir was making the 2022 Small Businesses Saturday a little bit special with their rendition of Santa Claus is Coming to Town. But, so were a whole lot of other people to support Ottawa businesses that day, like Beckman’s Jewelers. The business has been a community staple for over 125 years and owner Greg Beckman says his customers mean everything to him and his business.
Residents were out and about in Delphos shopping at mutliple small businesses on Saturday. For Small Business Saturday, residents were encouraged to visit shops in their own backyard.
As the holiday shopping weekend continues, people were seen checking off their families wish list in local shops and stores today for Small Business Saturday.
“Small businesses are the backbone of the local community,” said Eliot Walters, Amish Merchant owner.
Its Small Business Saturday and local residents are coming out to support their neighbors this holiday season. Local residents not only came out to not only get ready for the holiday, but to also support the backbone of the community, which is small business.
This weekend kicks off the official holiday shopping season. With some sales starting on Thanksgiving Day and moving into Black Friday local businesses want to encourage you to “SHOP SMALL” this Saturday. This will be the 10th year for “Small Business Saturday” supporting small hometown businesses. The “Shop Small Movement” is backed by American Express and they say 67-cents of every dollar spent at a small business stays in your community. And shopping small also has its personal benefits.
Back in July, the downtown revitalization project began in Findlay, working on sidewalks and curbs along Main Street. Now that construction is complete, and the City of Findlay kicked off the new downtown with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
