A Lima man who was indicted by the Allen County Grand Jury back in November of this year has waived his right to a speedy trial.  Jamale A. Fox signed a speedy trial waiver in court on Wednesday that will postpone his jury trial to allow his lawyer more time to prepare for the case. 

Durant Tyson was indicted by the Allen County Grand Jury on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, and two counts of felonious assault. The charges stem from a home invasion back in July of this year in the 1600 block of West Wayne Street. Tyson appeared for a pre-trial where he signed a speedy trial waiver. The waiver will now allow his attorney, Jerry Pitts, time to prepare for his case. The defense also requested lowering Tyson's bond, but the request was denied by the judge.

A Lima man alleged to have sexual contact with children has signed a time waiver in Allen County Common Pleas Court today. 65-year-old Keith Overmyer waived his right to a speedy trial giving attorneys more than 90 days to prepare for trial. Overmyer previously pled not guilty to all 14 of his charges, ten counts of rape and four counts of gross sexual imposition. The indictment says the alleged crimes happened multiple times between January 2017 and March of this year.
