LPD Officer Eric Mericle, Safety City Program Coordinator, said, “The earliest I’ve ever seen anybody line up was, like, an hour and a half to two hours prior, but it’s, you know, come out. You know, there’s going to be a little bit of a line, but there’s so many people passing out various different things, not only just candy, they may have free gift cards to places. So it’s just going to be a fun, fun time.”

DECA students at Lima Senior are getting in the Halloween spirit with students from Unity Elementary on Wednesday. Members of the Big Spartans Little Spartans program gathered in the parking lot to celebrate Halloween with their annual Trunk or Treat. The kids got to tour different trunk booths with educational games, prizes, and, of course, candy with their Big Spartans. Some of the bigs were dressed in costumes and played Halloween-themed music in their cars.

Students at Unity Elementary were treated to games and activities in the school's parking lot this morning(10/24/19) thanks to the Big Spartans Little Spartans program. Big Spartans Little Spartans is a mentoring program through Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Ohio. The games were based out of the trunks of Lima Senior student’s cars and ranged from Spider-man to Minecraft themed. Kids had to apply what they have learned inside the classroom to receive a prize from each station.
