LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Ohio putting on a trunk-or-treat event at their Allen County location Wednesday evening.
BBBS of West Central Ohio has participated in several trunk-or-treat events across the area, serving around 8,000 kids this season.
Local non-profits and businesses joined the organization to give out treats to area kids along with information about the services that they can provide to families. Wednesday's event was their very own, held at their Lima location on Elm Street, and they wanted to give families an idea of how Big Brothers Big Sisters can help mentor and support area kids.
"I am pro-outreach and pro-reaching the community in every way possible, so reaching out with trunk-or-treat or another holiday event, we are trying here with everything possible for people to know that we are in their community, right here on Elm Street in our main location," said Portia Smith, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Ohio.
