LIMA, OH (WLIO) - DECA students at Lima Senior are getting in the Halloween spirit with students from Unity Elementary on Wednesday.
Members of the Big Spartans Little Spartans program gathered in the parking lot to celebrate Halloween with their annual Trunk or Treat.

The kids got to tour different trunk booths with educational games, prizes, and, of course, candy with their Big Spartans. Some of the bigs were dressed in costumes and played Halloween-themed music in their cars.
The mentor program is one that hits close to home for many of the Big Spartans, and they want their littles to feel supported no matter the occasion.

"It's really important for us to be involved in the kids who are in Big Brothers Big Sisters because they kind of need that emotional support of someone older that they know they can go to. I know for my little, she has some things at home that I can help her out with, and I think that kind of goes for everyone here that their little can come to them with things they might not be able to go to someone at home or at school," said Marisol Gonzalez, Big Spartan/DECA public relations officer.
