ST. MARYS, Ohio (WLIO) - A local prayer vigil was held to comfort military families during this hard time.

Project Safe Return hosted a prayer vigil for military troops and families who are being affected by the current attacks in Iran. Many community members gathered to connect and comfort those who have family in the U.S. military. Sponsored by St. Marys VFW Post 9289 and the American Legion Post 323, all attendees were encouraged to bring in a family photo of their loved one who has either served or is currently serving. Between each testimony and prayer, a praise band played uplifting music to bring peace to those who may need it.

“Whether we agree or disagree with what’s going on in the world is really irrelevant. We have people who are making sacrifices so we can have our freedom every day. And so, anything you can do just to recognize those folks is meaningful,” says Patty Cisco, a volunteer for Project Safe Return.
