COLUMBUS, Ohio (WLIO) — West Central Ohio athletes continued their pursuit of state medals and championship performances on Day 3 of the OHSAA State Track and Field Championships at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

Saturday's action featured Division I and Division II preliminary races, while Division III athletes competed in finals events.

In the Division III girls long jump, Abby Vance of Benjamin Logan earned a fourth-place finish on the podium. Meanwhile, Savannah Recker capped off her high school career with an eighth-place finish for Ottawa-Glandorf.

The girls pole vault also produced a strong showing from the area. Gracyn Harris cleared 12 feet, surpassing her previous personal best and finishing fourth in the state. The freshman's performance highlighted a promising future for the Bulldogs program.

In the Division II boys long jump, Jarin Bagley posted the top mark in the first flight of competition but was unable to advance to the finals round.

On the track, Gaby Muller advanced through the Division II girls 400-meter preliminary race after clocking a time of 59.32 seconds.

The Division II boys 100-meter preliminaries featured one of Ohio's top sprinters in Jamier Brown. The Ohio State football commit cruised to a qualifying time of 10.47 seconds to earn a spot in the finals.

In Division I, the lone area representative was the Findlay Trojans boys 4x100-meter relay team. Findlay finished sixth in the preliminaries to secure a berth in Sunday's state final.

Division III track finals were delayed by weather and concluded later than scheduled. Full results and additional coverage from the state championships will be available Sunday.
