COLUMBUS GROVE, Ohio (WLIO) — The annual Northwest Conference Wrestling Tournament brought some of the area’s top talent to the mats, and for the second straight year, Bluffton walked away with the team title.

The Pirates piled up 204 points to secure back-to-back conference championships in a competitive field that featured multiple state-caliber wrestlers.

Individually, champions were crowned across all weight classes, starting at the lighter divisions and working up through heavyweight.

At 106 pounds, Crestview’s Dylan Cress claimed the conference title.

In the 113-pound weight class, Allen East’s Colt Larrison captured gold.

Bluffton sophomore Ronald Kaufman topped the podium at 120 pounds.

At 126, Bluffton junior Branden Cross earned a 4-0 decision in the finals to secure the championship.

In the 132-pound bracket, Allen East sophomore Kellen Wireman won a 7-5 decision to take first place.

Moving to 138, Lima Central Catholic senior Antwain Adams — last year’s Division III state runner-up — won by technical fall, 21-5, to earn the title.

At 144, LCC junior and reigning Division III state champion Jordan Neal needed just 1:22 to record a pin and capture another conference crown.

Spencerville senior Austin McMichael brought home gold at 150 pounds.

In the 157-pound division, Crestview’s Luke Sawmiller won in sudden victory, 7-4, to claim the championship.

Spencerville’s Keaton Jacobs secured the 165-pound title with a pin in 2:44.

At 175, Allen East junior Miles McDorman earned a 22-3 technical fall — marking the 100th win of his career — en route to a first-place finish.

LCC’s Carter Lester won the 190-pound weight class.

In the 215-pound division, Lincolnview’s Daniel Clark needed just 46 seconds to record a pin and take the title.

And rounding things out in the heavyweight division, Bluffton’s Mason Shank earned the championship.

As a team, Bluffton finished on top with 204 points. Crestview placed second overall, followed by Allen East in third. Lima Central Catholic finished fourth, and Spencerville rounded out the top five.
