Caiola scores twice on penalty kicks as New Knoxville blanks Temple Christian 3-0

NEW KNOXVILLE — Favian Caiola converted two penalty kicks to lead New Knoxville past Temple Christian 3-0 in boys soccer action Monday.
Caiola struck first from the spot with less than 10 minutes remaining in the first half, giving the Rangers a 1-0 lead. Temple Christian’s defense held firm the rest of the half, turning away another New Knoxville scoring chance to stay within reach.
In the second half, the junior captain struck again on another penalty kick, doubling the Rangers’ advantage. New Knoxville added a late insurance goal to secure the win.
With the victory, New Knoxville improves to 4-5-1 on the season, while Temple Christian falls to 3-6.
