VAN WERT, Ohio (WLIO) — Celina continued its strong play in Western Buckeye League action with a road win over Van Wert, handing the Cougars a 46-21 loss.
The game was tight early in the first quarter before Celina began to settle in offensively. Senior Rachel Rammel knocked down a three-pointer to give the Bulldogs an early edge and set the tone for the rest of the night.
Van Wert looked to respond in the second quarter as freshman Flannery Foster scored in the paint to cut the deficit to one possession, but Celina answered with perimeter shooting. Alaina Vehorn connected from long range to keep the Bulldogs firmly in control heading into halftime.
Celina maintained its momentum after the break, using balanced scoring and defensive pressure to stretch the lead. Brinley Korte scored on a pull-up jumper before finding Brooke Baucher for a reverse layup as the Bulldogs continued to build separation.
The Bulldogs would close out the game and secured the 46-21 victory.
