Columbus Grove beats Lima Central Catholic to clinch share of NWC title

LIMA — Columbus Grove clinched a share of the Northwest Conference title with a 33-25 win over Lima Central Catholic at Spartan Stadium.
The Bulldogs struck first when Landon Best connected with Gavin Barraza for a 12-yard touchdown. LCC answered with quarterback Brady Parker finding Lausen Flores on a 72-yard score to even the game at 7-7.
After an interception, Parker hit Michael Quatman for another touchdown to give the Thunderbirds a 13-7 lead. Grove responded with a 26-0 run, capped by two scores from Trevon Baxter to build a 33-13 advantage.
LCC closed the gap with Parker’s 59-yard touchdown to Quatman late in the fourth, but Baxter sealed the win with an interception in the final minute as Columbus Grove secured its share of the NWC championship.
