CORY-RAWSON — It was a milestone night for Cory-Rawson volleyball, as senior Katelyn Duffman recorded her 1,000th career assist in the opening set to highlight the Hornets’ sweep of Perry on senior night.
Duffman’s achievement energized the home crowd, but the Hornets also delivered on the court. After jumping ahead in the first set, Perry’s Sarah Breaston fought to keep the Commodores within reach, cutting into a 23-12 deficit.
Cory-Rawson regrouped in the second set, and Duffman added to her assist total by setting up Brieahna May for a key kill. Soon after, senior Hazel Dixon drove home a cross-court smash to keep momentum with the Hornets.
The Hornets closed out the match in three sets, earning a 25-12, 25-20, 25-14 victory to sweep Perry and celebrate senior night in style.
