ELIDA, OH (WLIO) - Elida set the tone early and never looked back, defeating Allen East 46-34 in the championship game of the Vicki Mauk Holiday Classic.
The Lady Bulldogs opened the game on an 11-0 run, capped by a layup from Claire Dingledine to give Elida an early advantage with three minutes remaining in the first quarter.
Allen East eventually got on the board when Evelyn Lehman knocked down a 3-pointer, ending the Mustangs’ scoreless start.
Elida, however, continued to build its lead. Lilly Sifrit went to work in the post and helped push the Bulldogs to an 18-4 lead by the end of the first quarter.
