USV HIGH SCHOOL — Hardin Northern continued its strong late-season push, rolling past Upper Scioto Valley in straight sets Tuesday night for its third consecutive victory.
The Polar Bears came out hot, jumping to a 9-0 lead before Upper Scioto Valley senior Ivie Gonzalez stopped the run with a kill. Gonzalez followed it up with an ace from the service line to bring the Rams within seven, but Hardin Northern quickly regained control.
Junior Stella Morrison delivered a powerful spike to make it 12-5, and Morgan Stewart followed with another unreturnable shot as the Polar Bears pulled away.
Hardin Northern, now 15-7 overall and 8-1 in conference play, swept the Rams 3-0 to stay near the top of the Northwest Central Conference standings.
