(KALIDA) — Kalida’s season has turned into one of the most impressive comeback stories in the area.

After starting the year just 4-9, the Wildcats have completely flipped the script. Since that point, Kalida has gone 12-2 and enters the state semifinal riding a nine-game winning streak.

The late-season surge has propelled the Wildcats to their first state tournament appearance since 2009.

Kalida will now face Hillsdale in the Division VII state semifinal on Friday, as they look to keep their hot streak alive against a tough Falcons squad.

Head coach Ryan Stechschulte says the key has been the team coming together at the right time, and they’ll look to carry that momentum into the biggest game of their season.
