CELINA, OH — The Lima Locos looked to complete a three-game sweep against the Grand Lake Mariners on Sunday at Montgomery Field in Celina. Riding a three-game winning streak, the Locos entered the series finale with momentum — but Grand Lake had other plans.
Trailing 3–1 in the sixth inning, Lima mounted a comeback. Marwynn Matthews Jr. lined a single into center, scoring Carter Schueler and David Falloon to tie the game at 3.
But in the bottom half of the inning, the Mariners responded. Jacob Loving ripped an RBI single up the middle to bring home Austyn Peak, putting Grand Lake back on top. Sage Adams followed with an RBI groundout, allowing Loving to score and extend the lead.
Grand Lake held on to win 6–4, avoiding the sweep and snapping Lima’s winning streak at three games.
