Marion Local tops Ada to claim back-to-back district titles

WAPAKONETA (WLIO) — Marion Local powered past Ada 52-23 to capture its second straight district championship.
The Flyers set the tone early and built a 13-point halftime lead behind strong offensive production from Brayden Mescher, who finished with a team-high 13 points. Grant Kremer added a three-pointer during a big second-quarter run that helped Marion Local take control.
Ada was led by Zack Zimmerman, who scored 13 points and surpassed the 1,000 career point mark late in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs also got a score from Carson Conley after a strong pass from Kayleb Hickman in the second quarter.
Marion Local advances to the regional round and will play at Vandalia Butler on Tuesday.
