ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) - The heat is not stopping people from enjoying the Fourth of July as Lake Cody is already full of families celebrating the weekend.
The camp is expecting a large crowd headed into the weekend. The grounds are mainly shaded, making Lake Cody one of the cooler outdoor locations for festivities.
"Luckily for us we do have a nice large wooded component to our campground; it's about twenty degrees cooler down there than it is out here,"Â said campground owner Beth Spradlin. "AÂ lot of them are hanging out near their campers with their fans. The swimming area, the kids have already invaded, so I'm sure we'll have a packed house of swimmers and floaters most of the day, cause that's going to be our number one best way to beat the heat is to stay underwater."
Despite the heat, Lake Cody will be organizing several games for kids and families on Saturday afternoon in celebration of July 4th.
