LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Lima's annual Star Spangled Spectacular begins Saturday morning, and this year city officials expect it to be bigger than ever.
Fireworks are already set up for the big performance which will include a new drone show this year in honor of America's 250th anniversary. The entire day is made possible by local sponsors.
"I've been at Superior for eight years and we sponsor so much, but it means a lot both to sponsor but to also see the results of your sponsorships - so when I get to actually go and work the event, I always do the race with my 15 Superior volunteers in the morning, and it's really rewarding to see the thing you're putting on for people, because these things don't just happen with a donation," said Kelsey Joseph, director of marketing at Superior Credit Union. "They also happen with people who care and give of their time."
The Star Spangled Spectacular kicks off Saturday morning with the Freedom 5K at 9 AM.
