CONTINENTAL, OH (WLIO) -- At Pirates Cove, Ottoville squared off against Continental. The Big Green entered the night having won 11 straight meetings against the Pirates.
In the first quarter, Continental’s Tyson Clementz came up with the steal and finished on the other end, scoring the first points of the game for the home team.
Ottoville answered by swinging the ball to Ashton Miller in the corner. The senior knocked down the 3-pointer to pull the Big Green within one.
Moments later, Continental’s Monty Rayle responded with a 3 from the opposite corner, giving the Pirates a four-point lead.
Ottoville capitalized on a loose ball soon after, with Evan Altenburger converting the turnover into points.
The two teams stayed close early on, as Continental’s Brady Thomsen finished at the rim to keep things tight.
But in the end, it was Miller who took over for Ottoville. He drove past his defender and finished through contact, part of a game-high 32-point performance.
Ottoville pulled away late, earning a 51-42 win over Continental for its second conference victory of the season.
