ADA, Ohio (WLIO) — It was a statement win for the Ohio Northern Polar Bears on Saturday as they upset No. 22 Baldwin Wallace, 30–28, at Dial-Roberson Stadium.
Early on, the Polar Bears found themselves trailing 7–3 before quarterback Sam Feldman connected with Raffi Stauffer on a 40-yard touchdown strike to put ONU ahead 14–10.
In the second quarter, Findlay graduate Baret Helms came up big for the defense, hauling in an interception to halt a Baldwin Wallace drive. Though the Polar Bears couldn’t capitalize on that turnover, they stayed within striking distance.
Trailing 21–10 later in the half, Feldman continued to move the offense. He found Shawnee alum Keegan Wilson for a key first down before picking up seven yards himself to push ONU into the red zone. On fourth-and-one, Feldman hit Louie Blasiole for the touchdown, cutting the deficit to just four before halftime.
The Polar Bears carried that momentum into the second half, outscoring the Yellow Jackets to complete the comeback and secure a thrilling 30–28 win at home.
