LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The University of Northwestern Ohio baseball team stayed hot on Saturday, completing a doubleheader sweep of Aquinas with a dominant performance in game two.
After taking the opener 15-9, the Racers wasted no time carrying that momentum into the second game.
Leadoff hitter Eliomar Otero got things started in a big way, launching a solo home run to right field on the very first pitch he saw to give UNOH a 1-0 lead.
The Racers kept the pressure on later in the inning. Tyler Huff delivered an RBI single to left field, bringing home Dwayne Anderson to extend the advantage.
With the bases loaded, Nolan Hull came through with a clutch hit into right-center, driving in two more runs as UNOH continued to pour it on.
The scoring didn’t stop there. Jake Watson executed a perfect suicide squeeze, allowing Casey Barnes to cross the plate and cap off a five-run first inning.
That was more than enough support for the Racers, who cruised the rest of the way.
UNOH secures the sweep with a 10-0 run-rule victory in game two.
